9bbd Cricket Betting Live Markets

Before placing a bet on cricket, it helps to understand the formats, because the type of markets available differs between them. T20 matches are over in just a few hours — odds shift quickly and live betting is most active. In ODI cricket the full fifty overs are played, generating many markets around run rates and partnerships. Test cricket runs over five days — a draw is also a possible market outcome, which is not the case in the other formats.

The most popular tournament among Bangladeshi fans is the BPL — the domestic T20 league where local and overseas players compete together. Alongside that, IPL and the T20 World Cup attract a large volume of betting activity on 9bbd. International bilateral series and ICC tournaments are also regularly available in the markets.

Alongside cricket, football betting is also available on 9bbd. In football, a draw is a major factor — so the match winner market has three outcomes (Team A wins, Team B wins, draw). T20 and ODI cricket normally have no draw, so the odds structure is different. In sports like Kabaddi, tennis or basketball, the pace of play and breaks affect odds in their own way.

Many types of markets are open on a single match. Below is a brief description of the most commonly used ones.

Match Winner

You choose which team will win the match. In T20 and ODI there are only two outcomes — Team A or Team B. For example, if Team A is the favourite their odds are lower and Team B's odds are higher.

Toss Winner

Which team will win the toss — this is a market that depends entirely on chance. Both sides have roughly equal probability, so the odds are close to each other.

Top Run Scorer (Batter)

Which batter from either team will score the most runs — each batter has their own odds in this market. Less prominent batters carry higher odds.

Total Runs: Over or Under

You choose whether the runs scored in the match or an innings will be above or below a set line. For example, if the line is 165 and you pick under, the total runs must stay below 165.

Top Bowler (Most Wickets)

Which bowler will take the most wickets — the type of bowler (pace or spin) and pitch conditions are important factors in this market.

Multi Bet (Multiple Selections)

Selections from multiple matches can be combined into one bet. You receive the full return only if every selection is correct; if even one is wrong, the entire bet is lost. See the odds section below for more detail.

Innings Break Score

What the score will be at the end of the first innings or powerplay — this market is especially popular in T20.

Handicap

The weaker team is given a notional head start in runs or wickets to level the contest. The outcome is expressed in words — no specific return amount applies here.

In sports betting, odds are written in three formats: Decimal, Fractional and American. All three express the same probability — only the way they are written differs.

Format Team A Win Team B Win (Favourite)
Decimal 3.00 1.50
Fractional 2/1 1/2
American +200 -200

Example 1 — Bet on Team A (৳500)

Decimal 3.00 = Fractional 2/1 = American +200. If you win, you get back ৳1,500 (৳1,000 profit plus your ৳500 stake returned). If you lose, the full ৳500 is gone.

Example 2 — Bet on Team B (Favourite) (৳500)

Decimal 1.50 = Fractional 1/2 = American -200. American minus odds show how much you need to stake to make ৳100 in profit. On a ৳500 bet, if you win you get back ৳750 (৳250 profit).

9bbd Odds Formats Decimal Fractional

Multi Bet Example

If three separate matches have odds of 1.50, 1.60 and 1.80, multiplying them together gives roughly 4.32. A ৳100 stake returns ৳432 if all are correct. But if even one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost — multi bets carry higher risk.

Live Betting in Progress

You can place bets even after a match has started — this is called live or in-play betting. In cricket, every wicket, big six or maiden over changes the odds immediately. For example, if Team A makes a strong start their win odds will shorten, while Team B's odds will lengthen. If a team loses three wickets in the powerplay, maintaining the required run rate becomes difficult — this directly affects the over/under market as well.

In-play betting in T20 moves at the fastest pace because the game can shift in an instant. In ODI there is a bit more time, so you have a better opportunity to read the situation before deciding. In Test matches, pitch conditions, weather and the batting-bowling balance change odds gradually.

Internet connection speed matters in live betting — odds move fast, so decisions need to be made promptly. Live betting on the 9bbd app is more convenient because everything is in one place on your mobile.

What happens when a wicket falls?

If a key wicket falls for the batting side, their win odds rise — the bowling side's odds drop. The market updates straight away.

Over Rate and Run Rate

When the required run rate climbs, batters have to take more risks. This has a direct effect on the over/under market.

Session Markets

How many runs will be scored in the next over or a specific session — these markets open and close quickly during in-play.

Cricket betting is for entertainment — enjoy it as part of watching the game rather than treating it as a source of income. The tips below apply to both new and experienced bettors. Visit the responsible gaming policy page to learn more.

01
Set your budget in advance

Decide how much you will stake in each session before you start, and it is wise not to go beyond that limit.

02
Start with one format

Begin with T20 or ODI — getting a solid understanding of the markets in one format is better than betting across all formats at once.

03
Keep multi bets small

The more selections, the higher the risk. A multi bet with two or three selections is easier to manage.

04
Avoid rushing in live betting

Odds change fast in in-play — analyse the situation rather than making decisions on impulse.

05
Focus on one market

Match winner or over/under — sticking to the market you understand best helps you build experience.

06
Read the rules

It is worth checking the terms and conditions before you start betting — especially the conditions around bonus use.

For beginners, T20 is generally the easiest because matches finish quickly and you do not have to wait long for a result. ODI has a moderate pace and gives more time to read the game. Test matches last five days — three outcomes are possible, including a draw, so you need a bit more experience to understand the markets.

The core markets — match winner, toss, over/under, top run scorer — are available in both tournaments. However, because IPL is a larger international tournament, it generally has more markets and greater market depth. BPL is a domestic tournament, so Bangladeshi bettors tend to be more familiar with it and have a better read on the teams.

When a wicket falls, pressure on the batting side increases, so their win odds rise immediately (meaning the return goes up but the implied probability falls). The bowling side's win odds drop (their implied probability rises). The over/under market for total runs also shifts — fewer wickets in hand makes aggressive batting harder.

In a multi bet the odds of each selection are multiplied together, so the potential return on a single stake is much higher. If three selections have odds of 1.50, 1.60 and 1.80, the combined odds are roughly 4.32 — meaning a ৳100 stake returns ৳432. However, if even one selection is wrong, the entire bet is lost. Because of this risk, it is better to keep the number of selections in a multi bet low.

The biggest difference is the possibility of a draw. In football, the match winner market usually has three outcomes — Team A wins, Team B wins, and draw. In T20 and ODI cricket there is no draw, so only two outcomes exist. Test cricket does have a draw, making it closer to football in that regard. Cricket also has game-specific markets such as wickets, run rate and partnerships that do not exist in football.
